Angelo Plessas "The Angelo Foundation Bulletin Board"

“The Angelo Foundation Bulletin Board”
2009

“The Angelo Foundation” was created by net-artist, curator and art shaker Angelo Plessas during 2007. His aim is “shoot without aiming”: The Foundation has a mission, based in making “things” such sculptures, give support to Internet victims or robot poetry readings, and see what happens in response, trying to bridge the existing weird relationship between internet, culture and future. Is a non-profit organization, focused on the promotion of contemporary ideas, hooking up and the creation of an effective social net. Their activities are various and all under consideration, spectulation and open to misinterpretations. To The Foundation, everything is possible and probable, “cause we don´t believe in a fixed future, or in a fixed past neither”. Is a virtual Foundation without physical headquarters: so vinculated to this difficult times. www.theangelofoundation.com

Angelo Plessas (Athens, 1974) lives and works in Athens. Assigned to the Neen Movement, founded by greek artist Miltos Manetas, actually is one of the most international net-artists: a symbol and a reference from the new vision of this kind of art. His work has been shown and broadly commented on the most important think tanks of the new media, as Rhizome.org, where he was awarded. He has been developing websites since 2001. “The Angelo Foundation” is his last project. For further information, please visit www.angeloplessas.com. Angelo is represented by Rebecca Camhi Gallery (Athens) and Think21 Gallery (Brussels).
