"Threesome" cames from the last series of artist´s work. Through a clear line and saturated but balanced colors, of restricted palette, Ruth Gómez analyzes evasion attitudes. In her own words: "I look for fictitious worlds that they release to us from quotidianity". Her matter, nevertheless, is still what surrounds her: many of her characters are portrayed friends, taken to a tragic "cosification", as if they were marionettes into the hands of a demiurge or the fate. A fate, generally seeded of mystery (there´s a "before" simply intuited; "after" does not exist) that sometimes is expressed in a violent way, mostly ironic, others mischievous, incitant; always in eternal loops. "Some of my videos characters have gone out of them to grown their own identity in a concrete space", artist said. "We face three characters: a hidden girl behind a pillar; a guy with lipstick spots inviting us to a place we don´t even know, and a last who goes through the wall. Are we involved in a love triangle? Is it just an optical illusion? In fact, I raise an open game to the viewer".

Ruth Gómez (Valladolid, Spain, 1976) was formed in Salamanca University. Her work has been developed mainly in the video art language, although their digital creations have jumped to graphics, sometimes in books ("Animales de compañía" , Arte sobre papel, 2006), othertimes in sticky vinyls for walls. She has participated in international art fairs like Fierce (Bolonia), Dubai, Lisbon, Cologne or ARCO. Her work has been exhibited at MUSAC (León), CAC (Malaga), San Diego Museum of Art (USA) or CAB (Burgos), among others, even in music summer festivals like FIB (Benicàssim). She has also made Fangoria´s videoclip "Interior de una nave espacial abandonada" (Arquitectura Efímera). She lives and works in Madrid. She´s represented by Oliva Arauna Gallery (Madrid) and Mario Sequeira Gallery (Braga, Portugal).
